Fort Lean is out of Brooklyn and channels the maturity and relaxed artistry of The Walkmen and the organic, old-fashioned rock and roll sounds that come with it, but they manage to bring enough jangle and anthemic brit-rock to provide the lift that brings it all together. Those are ingredients that'll definitely catch my attention. Their first EP
is self-titled and was self-released via their Bandcamp on April 13. The band has been getting support from Greedhead Records, but remains unsigned at this time. Check out a couple of tunes from the EP here, and I strongly encourage you to listen to the rest of the EP at their Bandcamp, where you can also download it for a measly $4.
