In The Waiting Room
This trio is out of San Francisco and they have a new 3-track single, I'm Neurotic, out on Slumberland Records. For some reason, the trio maintains a low profile and don't play up the fact that all three of them are from another band (Magic Bullets). They play a speedy style of pop that reminds me of Weekend with the grime and haze cleared away from the
vocals and melodies for a clean, fun sound. Check out one of the tracks from the 7", 'Distracted,' above and pick up your copy of the 7" here.
The other song, 'In The Waiting Room,' is from a compilation put together by True Panther Records to celebrate the San Francisco Giants' World Series Championship last year. It features mostly unreleased stuff by LOADS of great SF artists like Ty Segall, Dominant Legs, The Fresh & Onlys, The Sandwitches, Young Prisms, Girls...and that just barely puts a dent in it. The comp was initially intended to be free, but was then changed to ask for a $1 donation for the San Francisco Coalition on Homelessness to go towards opposing a new law against the homeless that was passed up there to make it illegal to sit down or lie down on the sidewalk. p.s. I still hate the Giants.
