Hide Or Seek
SBTRKT is a dub-step like variation out of the UK. The group is mysterious and doesn't promote much information about themselves. That seems to be the normal way of doing things in this genre I suppose. They've signed to Young Turks for the release of their self-titled debut LP on June 28 (pre-order). Their live show consists of one to two
guys wearing tribal masks, and featuring live drums, synth, and computers. Not exactly the type of stuff that I listen to voluntarily, and the new self-titled album hasn't gotten many plays from me, but the new single 'Wildfire' definitely caught my attention with its warped synth and wonky, hypnotizing beats. It features vocals from Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano, which make it very easily mistakable for a Little Dragon tune. Take a listen to 'Widlfire' and check out another song from last year's Step In Shadow EP to see if it wets your appetite more than it did for me.
