[on repeat] WHITE NIGHT by The Postelles

White Night
Stella

Do you remember how much fun The Strokes debut LP was when it came out?  Well, The Postelles are a 4-piece out of New York (coincidence?) whose self-titled debut LP carries the same type of energy as Is This It and comes out today on Plus One Records.  The record definitely has a 'city'
sound (if that makes any sense), but in it you'll hear a modern take on 1950's sounds influence as well as the inevitable comparisons to early Strokes.  The latter, though, makes perfect sense since the band was discovered by Albert Hammond Jr. while these kids were still in high school, and he then went on to produce their debut EP and debut LP.  'White Night' is the title-track from their EP released last year, and is still one of their featured tunes included on the new LP.  Enjoy the fun, bouncing sounds of the single, and 'Stella' (also from the LP) and grab yourself a copy of the record here.  They'll be bringing the new tunes to town June 28 at The Echo ($8 tickets).
