TOWN CRAZIES by Hypocrite In A Hippy Crypt

Town Crazies
Funeral Playlist

Today's tunes come from a student at Indiana University that shot over an email to me of three of his songs. I probably should have waited until the end to make any age reference because you wouldn't expect it after hearing his stuff. He's been playing in friend's basements for years now and he didn't start sharing his music until one of his friends came across it on his computer. Since then, he's started a band and has been picked up by the small record label Gulcher Records (Kurt Vile's first label).
The band released its debut LP, Tweaker In The Park, on June 7th and it's a nostalgic pop sound that's simple, sandy (gritty) and breezes you over to a somber place, but makes you fine and comfortable for being there. It's hard to not fall for, and I expect people will eventually start to take notice. Download the extremely catchy 'Town Crazies,' listen to the emotionally heavy 'Funeral Playlist,' which he sufferingly sings about the difficulty in creating this sort of playlist for someone and the songs that may be inadvertently left out. Head over to their Bandcamp to hear a third song from the LP, and order yourself a copy at the Gulcher shop.
