[on repeat] WRONG/RIGHT by The Hussy

Wrong/Right
Sexi Ladi

The Hussy is a rocking garage punk duo out of Madison Wisconsin that consists of Bobby Hussy (the man who started Kind Turkey Records) and Heather Sawyer.  Their debut LP, Cement Tomb Mind Control, came out May 9 on Slow Fizz Records and manages to pack 13 tracks of high energetic fury into a mere 22 minute ride.  They have a
debut 7", an EP, and a couple of other releases that you can peruse at their Bandcamp.  But seriously, back to the record at hand...Cement Tomb hits hard and often with gritty vocals, scuzzy guitars, and some drum bashing that really does a fantastic job of keeping you moving.  The sound is dirty, but there's no denying the urge to want to sing (yell?) and bounce along to the hook-filled beauty.  The raucous, vintage sound is enhanced in all the right places with sprinkles of surf jangle and metallic guitar that add just the right touch to the overall driving sound of the record.  It's like bits of sweet candy inside of garage fuzz wrapping.  'Wrong/Right' and 'Sexy Ladi' are two of my favorites that Bobby was kind enough to give the thumbs up to share with all of you.  Don't let your experience with The Hussy end with these two tracks.  Listen to the rest of the record and grab yourself a copy here.

The band is currently out on tour, but there are no dates scheduled for L.A.  For those of you in the east coast or midwest, you can check out the tour dates here.
