WAVE GOODBYE by Ty Segall Band

Wave Goodbye
Crybaby (with White Fence)

Two of the busiest men in rock continue to be Ty Segall and White Fence.  Over the past few years I can't think of many others that have produced more releases than these two guys.  The two of them have their collaborative LP, Hair, that was just released April 24 from Drag City (buy).  White Fence has Family Perfume Vol. 1 that was released April 3 (out of print) and Vol. 2 is on the way on May 15 (pre-order)...both
from Woodsist.  Ty also has a couple of releases slated for this year as we discussed with him before.  The first is a debut release for the Ty Segall Band (aka his touring band), which features the always fun Mikal Cronin, the banging Emily Rose Epstein, and Charlie Moothart of Charlie and the Moonhearts (aka Moonhearts).  The LP is titled Slaughterhouse and is out June 26 on CD and July 17 on double 10" vinyl from In The Red Records (pre-order).  This LP is expected to be heavier and if the preview track, 'Wave Goodbye,' is any indication then it's clearly headed in that direction.  The band has been featuring the song as part of its live set recently, and it's a towering tune (no overstatement) that sludges along with a menacing prog psych attitude, descending bass, sour vocals, and powerful guitar solos.  Give the song a listen along with one of my favorites from Hair above.
