Virginia's Eternal Summers didn't just add a bass player to their duo over the past year...they've managed to re-work their minimalistic dream fuzz sound into something quite spectacular. They are following up their debut LP, Silver, with Correct Behavior on July 24 from Kanine Records (pre-order). We were given a taste of the new full sound, studio polishing, and increase in rhythmic intensity a few weeks ago when the band released the preview track 'Millions,' and the entire full-
length continues to deliver upon that fresh sound. Choosing a track to feature alongside 'Millions' today wasn't as straightforward as most releases usually are. There's the equally energetic 'Wonders,' the off-kilter Pixies-esque 'Girls In the City,' and the ska-tinged 'I Love You,' but ultimately there really was no other choice than 'Heaven and Hell.' It may be one of the prettiest tunes I've heard in quite some time with the signature angelic vocals of Nicole Yun masked behind a wall of guitar and conflicted lyrics of revival. Many fans (myself included) may not have had too high of expectations for this release, but it's definitely a giant creative leap forward for the band.
