HIGH FANTASY by Lace Curtains

High Fantasy
Mood Ring (by Harlem)

Just last week I posted about Harlem side project Grape St. and was wondering what the ultimate fate of Harlem truly was given the lack of information that had been released up to that point.  Well, as luck would have it, another side project from the other talented songwriter in the group, Michael Coomer, has surfaced and he has confirmed that he's moved from Austin to Brooklyn, but that 'Harlem isn't broken up in any real
way.'  So take that for what it's worth, but in the meantime Coomer's project, Lace Curtains, is primarily a solo affair and he's prepping the release of the LP, The Garden Of Joy And The Well Of Loneliness.  The song 'High Fantasy' is one of the new songs to be featured on the LP and it's not as closely tied to Harlem's sound as what we've heard from Grape St., but the similarities are there (of course) and it brings a slight maturity to the sound.  'Maturity' probably isn't the best word to use given Harlem's penchant for extraordinary child-like bliss in their sound and live show, but it's what I get from it.  No news on a release date for the LP or the forming of a band for any tour, but there are some handmade shirts available over at his site
