[on repeat] BADILLAC by Pangea

Badillac

River

I've been meaning to post about L.A. rockers Pangea's new EP, Killer Dreams, since reading about it over at fellow L.A. blog Heard Instinct a couple months ago.  Pangea is widely known as one of the best bands in L.A. and they deliver an intense, rollicking, twangy edition of straightforward garage rock.  With the Killer Dreams EP the sound is a little more focused than last year's Living Dummy LP and it results in
something quite fantastic.  'Badillac' is an exclusive release from the band on May 1 and isn't on Killer Dreams, but it's a clear extension of their recording style to move forward from the overtly frayed, lo-fi sound.  Take a listen to this new track as well as 'River' off the exceptional Killer Dreams, which was a split release from Ghostbot Records (buy) and Lauren Records (buy).  You can also listen to 'Plasma (outofyourmind)' below and stream all four tracks here.

You can catch them headlining the L.A. leg of Get Bent's one year birthday party at Blue Star on May 18 where Get Bent is promising a very special late night guest that will get 'panties reeaalll wet.'  See ya there!
