Cold Warps are out of Halifax/Ontario and they record AM style power pop loaded with fuzz and plenty of head-bopping qualities. Don't Haunt Me, OK?, which shows their consistently good tunes are eventually (hopefully) leading to something special once an LP is released. The songs are simple, and as the band puts it, 'This is not intellectual rock, it's Joey Ramone beating Paul McCartney over the head with songs about science fiction, teenage apathy, and summer love.' As evidenced above, both songs on Haunt are quality upbeat retro songs with pop hooks, a generally laid back attitude, and amusing and simple lyrics like, 'When you die don't haunt me mister, promise me you'll haunt my sister.' It's a familiar sound, but they definitely put their own flavor into it. The 7" is released from Noyes Records, which is where you can pick up your own copy. All their stuff is also available for streaming on Bandcamp, and everything (except Haunt) is downloadable there for nuthin'.
