(previously on CWR)
The Michigan psychedelic outfit People's Temple introduced their classic blend of hazy psych rock to us through their debut LP release, Sons of Stone, via HoZac Records in 2011 (buy), which quickly became one of my favorites of the year. I consider it a fortunate thing that we're blessed with a follow-up LP, More For The Masses in 2012. Sons of Stone embedded People's Temple into the psychedelic, garage genre upon its
release, and the new LP quite simply blows the roof off it. It has all the qualities you'd expect from a nostalgic 70's psych record and introduces loads more to the formula in the form of 50's/60's-esque beatnik vibes and moments of 90's style shoegaze wall of guitars...all behind the band's familiar reverb soaked vocals. You've heard the killer track from the LP, 'Looter's Game' before, but now here's a preview of another track, 'Right From Wrong,' which is easily one of the grooviest things these guys have done to this point. You can pre-order the LP/CD direct from HoZac and it's expected to ship soon.
