When You Cut
‘Mazes’ is the latest single from San Francisco’s Moon Duo and is taken from their new LP of the same name. They formed in 2009 with Sanae Yamada and Erik Johnson (Wooden Shjips). They released two very well received
records in 2009...the Love on the Sea 12-inch single on Sick Thirst and the Killing Time EP on Sacred Bones Records. The Escape LP in 2010 was their debut on Woodsist. ‘Mazes’ sees them continuing to machete their way through a unique blaze of warm fuzzy, psychedelic rock with the soft touch of some futuristic electronic undertones. Mazes (buy) was released on March 29 from Sacred Bones Records. If you order online, you get copies of the mp3s immediately after check-out, and the vinyl edition is hand silk-screened and comes with a 22" x 22" reversible poster. The self-titled single and 'When You Cut' are glimpses into the fullness of their sound on the new LP.
