Thunderbirds
Tennessee's CoolRunnings have been a consistent staple in the short existence of this blog. It was just a few weeks ago that I was complaining about how their stuff seemed like a chore to find and assemble into any sort of organized library (that's my OCD talking). Throughout all of the posts, there's been rumblings of a forthcoming LP, Teenage, TN, but never
any mention of a release date. Well, leave it to them to announce the release of their new LP out of thin air yesterday...and sure enough the title isn't what was expected...it's called Dracula Is Only The Beginning (goes well with their newly created Dracula Horse record label), and yup that's the artwork right there accompanying this post. I've always loved their music and now I'm falling for their antics too. The first three tracks on the record are all highlights that have been featured here previously, but two better quality versions are available above, and you also get seven new songs that continue along in the same twisted and 'guitarded, post-rad, pro-choice' fuzz-pop that they do so amazingly well. The full-length is available for $5 at their Bandcamp, but go ahead and stream (and buy) the whole thing in its entirety below because 1) you can hear how awesome it is before you shell out the Abe Lincoln, and 2) it gives me the opportunity to post the cover art again. Don't forget to check out their two previous EPs at Bandcamp.
