If you want to talk about prolific then San Francisco's The Fresh and Onlys need to be included in that conversation. If my memory serves correct there's been 3 LPs, 3 EPs, and a slew of 7"s of songs that aren't on any of the previously mentioned LPs/EPs since 2009. You can verify my numbers here. There doesn't seem to be any sign of them
slowing down...Secret Walls is a new EP that came out a few days ago (Apr 26) on Sacred Bones Records. Last year's Play It Strange was definitely a personal favorite and in hindsight really deserved a spot in my favorites of 2010. Given the volume of output from the band they aren't sacrificing in quality. Secret Walls sees the sound slowing down a bit from what they featured on last year's superb Play It Strange, but changing gears has been the norm for this band since its debut release. Fortunately, you can still hear the calmness, and effortlessness in their cool jangly sounds that make you think of swaying guitars in a Western. Check out two tracks from the EP and then go buy it. I guess we can expect a full-length by 2012 (unconfirmed).
