Blackeye
Skeleton Key
Today's songs come from an Austin three-piece called Love Inks. The first song, 'Blackeye,' is their first 7" and came out on March 7 (buy). It suffers from some severe lyrical repetitiveness, but the catchiness and pure joy factor more than make up for it and will probably steal your heart. The second song, 'Skeleton Key,' is a wonderful, moody, mellow
builder that exemplifies the dreamy simpleness of their sound in the vein of The XX. Their debut LP, ESP, is due out from Hell, Yes! / City Slang Records on May 2 (pre-order). They're set to head out on a tour soon, but as of now the closest date to L.A. is May 19 at the Tin Can Ale House in San Diego. Here's to looking out for a copy of the new LP.
