After a couple of 7" releases and a split 7" with Super Wild Horses over the past two years, Australia's Boomgates has released its full-length collection of tunes for their debut LP titled Double Natural on August 31 from Austrialian label Bedroom Suck Records (buy). The band is made up of members from Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The Twerps,
Dick Diver, and Teen Archer. As you'd expect from this stellar lineup, the LP is chock-full-o indie goodness with classic mid-tempo to upbeat guitar rock and boy/girl melodies that are super-sweet, but not twee in any way. These Aussies sure have perfected the art of writing a great guitar pop song and it's exemplified throughout this record. Take a listen to two of the tracks from the LP, which include the new single 'Whispering and Singing,' and 'Layman's Terms,' which is off a 2011 7" that's been a staple here on the radio stream. There's loads of good stuff on this record (no exaggeration) so be sure to grab yourself a copy. Enjoy the goodness.
