Digital Leather is the project of multi-instrumentalist Shawn Foree from Omaha (that'd be Nebraska) whose creative genius takes his generally punk flavored releases into an array of other genres. His most recent release, Yes Please, Thank You, is a cassette EP that was released earlier this year on Southpaw Records (buy). For this release Shawn
continues to illustrate his diversity with songs such as 'Mountains Are Dreaming,' a frenzied, electronic song, with airy guitar, glitchy synths, and a pulsating bass that makes for a superb off-kilter pop song. As you can tell from 'Flour,' another song on the EP, Foree clearly knows what he's doing and the attack on the 80s synth/punk vibe doesn't quit.
