Tonight L.A. is getting a special treat with a Bay Area double bill of The Fresh & Onlys and Terry Malts at The Echo. Tickets are still available (tickets) so if you don't have anything better to do then a visit is warranted to get a dose of
some high energy punk from the Terry Malts and the lovely rock, folk, psychedelic sounds of the infallible The Fresh & Onlys. The Fresh & Onlys just recently released their new LP, Long Slow Dance (buy), on Mexican Summer which follows up their fantastic 2010 release Play It Strange. It's only their fourth official full-length, but there's an abundance of EPs and singles through the years that have made them one of the busiest bands on the scene.
Also, I've been meaning to feature a 7" box set release of some old favorites and great new bands that includes Terry Malts. The folks over at the awesome Windian Records label are releasing their inaugural set of a singles subscription series and it includes Heavy Times, The Barreraacudas, Static Eyes, Suns of Guns, and of course Terry Malts. It's a critical collection with some killer artwork and packaging that you need to take a look at so get more info here. Terry Malts' A-side 'Living With The Human Race' is featured above but you can stream all of the A-sides over at this Soundcloud page.
