NERO by Little Tybee

Nero
Passion Seekers

This blog is still fairly new (almost 8 months) so it's still a very welcome surprise to discover some exciting new music from my inbox, and Paper Garden Records is developing a nice little track record.  First, it was with the Alcoholic Faith Mission and now we have Little Tybee.  They are a 5 to 10
piece out of Atlanta that create fun, quirky orchestral pop that has created a sizable following in their hometown and is rapidly spreading elsewhere. Their name comes from a tiny island off the coast of their native Georgia, where legend has it, an undetonated atomic bomb from the 1950s lies missing, and they jokingly attribute the quirkiness of their debut album Building a Bomb to the long-term effects of eating radiation-drenched seafood.  Their newest LP, Humorous to Bees, comes out on April 5th, and two of the songs on the record are featured above.  No plans yet for any shows in LA, but they'll be at SXSW with just about everyone else and then they head to the Northeast.
