Brooklyn dream pop band, and Beach Fossils side project, Dive are currently putting together their debut LP. 'Geist' is expected to be on the LP and will be released as a 7" on April 24 from Captured Tracks (buy). It's similar to Beach Fossils so you should know what to expect from Dive, but the song delves into a cleaner, psychedelic pop sound. Frontman Dustin Payseur claims he's working towards 'making something really noisy' for the new Beach Fossils LP he is
working on, and 'Shallow' is the first peek at that new record. It's a sunny, joyous, jangly tune and is definitely a step towards being less dreamy than his previous stuff, but I wouldn't go searching for the earplugs just quite yet. Dive will be in town April 19 at Satellite sharing the opening slot for Frankie Rose with Australia's The Twerps (tickets).
