SALLY SMOKED DOPE by Paint Fumes

Charlotte, NC trio Paint Fumes bang and holler their way through a three-song EP of tracks not included on their debut full length Uck Life from December of last year. The Sally Smoked Dope EP was released earlier this month from Slovenly Recordings, and it is a must-have for any fan of balls-out, howlin' good garage rock.  are not already playing to death their first EP Egyptian Rats and their debut LP Uck Life, then I have NO idea what you are waiting for. GO GET THEM. Paint Fumes is drummer Josh, lead guitarist Brett, and rhythm guitarist/howler Elijah, and their brand of self-proclaimed 'panic-attack punk' speeds you straight to the edge of the cliff, tosses you off, then lands on your head, and it's all such FUN. The truth is, Paint Fumes' music is a volatile, head-spinning (hence the band name) combo of not only garage and punk rock, but also psychedelic rock, of which Elijah is a big fan (most notably of Roky Erickson). Every tune they belt and pound out has an undeniable urgency to it. These boys are wicked, wild, and, as is pretty certain from interviews and photos (leave it to Paint Fumes to use album covers that are equal parts disturbing, gross, and yes, intriguing), they really are just in it to make some fun rock and roll, and party, well, pretty much ALL the time.  Stream the new EP over at Bandcamp.
