Nick Wilkerson and Anthony Esposito are the garage rockin' duo White Reaper, out of Louisville, KY. Citing the late, beloved Jay Reatard as a heavy influence on their sound. They have recorded and self-released an 8-song album of stripped-down, DIY, upbeat garage rock tunes on Halloween last year and it's called White Aura. Their sound is a lot like that of Bass Drum of Death: straight-up, rowdy, crowd-pleasing garage rock played fast and loud and mean and earnest. It's
exactly the rock and roll you want to hear when shaking off the week in your favorite city dive bar with a cold beer and no ear plugs. The songs on White Aura are short and sweet, and just plain fun, in-your-face rockers. Download this blaster in the 'pay what you want' format from their Bandcamp. They're heading out on a summer tour through May and June 2013, which is listed on their Facebook page and they'll have a new 7" with them so check that out to see if they're hitting up your town (they're hitting up MINE, awesome).
