I spoke about Black Bug back in 2011 when the Swedish duo released its 7" for 'Police Helicopter' from HoZac Records (2nd pressing available here). After a few other singles from a handful of other labels, we have their debut LP release for Reflecting The Light from HoZac. All the words I used to describe their sound back in 2011 still ring true and on the LP
we are provided with nearly 25 minutes of throbbing, hypnotic synth in a minimal and absolutely terrorizing sci-fi punk sound. Their songs contain an unsettling, apocalyptic tone behind the gnarly danceable beats and fuzzed out effects that permeate through their surface. Listen to the title track and 'TV Screen' above, and you can also listen to another track off the LP, 'Police Helicopter' and it's b-side 'Shard of Glass' at my 2011 post. The two-piece currently call Bordeaux, France home and are ravaging the fans with their live show there, but still no word if we'll get to see them in the States any time soon.
