L'APPEL DU VIDE by Spectral Park

Spectral Park is the project of multi-instrumentalist Luke Donovan out of Southhampton, England.  His debut self-titled LP was released from Mexican Summer on January 29 after promising song releases last year.  His solo project started out innocently and leisurely enough while coming up on a box of old, worn records, but the resulting frazzled, widly frantic
psychedlia that resulted on the LP is far from casual. Luke captures an extremely warped, disoriented, almost damaged type sound and places it on high for this collection of thick, hook loaded lo-fi pop. Songs like the lead track, 'L'appel Du Vide' are a whirlwind journey of electro-madness that grab your senses with a psychotic maelstrom, and there's no letting up. The vortex continues throughout the balance of the LP, as you can hear with the two tunes above.  Strap yourself up for the ride, stream it at Bandcamp, and go get yourself a copy of this record at Mexican Summer.
