Thee Open Sex are a 5-piece out of Bloomington, Indiana that just released their debut self-titled LP from Magnetic South Recordings. The band shares members with Apache Dropout, and the LP includes seven songs that travel from ramshackle punk, to psychedelic rock, and all the way over to western flavored punk...with each song carrying its on weight in wailing
guitars, howling vocals, and an electric energy that easily takes you through the record. The two tracks above, 'Gimme Away' and 'Peanut Butter' are a fine example of the diversity in the sound and they both do a great job of highlighting the different vocal stylings of the lovely Miss Mess and the varied musical directions that the band has to offer. The first pressing is almost out of print so you need to act fast on this one...or you can wait on the forthcoming second pressing.
