Replicate
I caught Disappears last weekend when they opened up for The Fresh & Onlys and they provided a blasting set that was definitely worthy of a headlining slot in most cases. This Chicago 4-piece is fronted by Brian Case (a member of The Ponys) and recently introduced Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley after the departure of their original banger. The band has delivered two solid albums of gazey, kraut inspired
spacerock (Lux and Guider), and their third LP, Pre-Language, brings their sound out from the fog a bit with more angst and a reaching power in their sound. Check out the title-track and the LP's lead track from Pre-Language above. The album comes out March 1 on Kranky Records so be sure to grab your copy here.
