Out Of Whack (previously on CWR)
I posted about Woollen Kits just a few weeks ago after the January 16 release of their debut self-titled LP on RIP Society Records. They were also just starting their brief U.S. tour across the U.S. from L.A. to Boston. I mentioned how courageous it was considering how they're from so damn far away (Melbourne, Australia), they're still fairly unknown, and have no label support behind them. Well, it's three weeks
later and after 5,400 miles of driving the tour ended in Boston a few days ago. During that time, they managed to put together a successful tour that saw all their LPs and 7"s selling out midway through the trek. I've also had some more time to spend with the debut LP and must say it's simply fantastic. It's all the things you should love about a simple, straightforward style of indie rock. The rawness of the crunchy guitars contain just enough grit to seem unpolished and not come off too slow, while all the way effortlessly straddling the lines of garage, post-punk and surf rock.. Grab it, download it, stream it, listen to it however you can.
