Gap Dream's self-titled debut album was released earlier this year from Burger Records (buy) and definitely deserved a post on CWR, but hey you can't always get to everything that you want to, right? Besides, there's this follow-up 7" that is equally as enticing as the one man band's full-length...but seriously if you haven't heard it yet get over to Bandcamp right now. The man responsible is Gabriel Fulvimar out of Cleveland, but as
of a couple weeks ago he now lives here in California. The two new tracks on his Ali Baba 7" continue the path of dreamy, swirly music that you'd be remiss to simply classify as chillwave. There's something extra to what Gap Dream has done so far to separate itself from that seemingly forgotten trend while still capturing its aesthetic and simplicity. 'Generator' is the lead track and it's a swirly, pleasant psychedlic pop song with unavoidable guitar work that sits well against the keyboard heavy, spacey sounding b-side track, 'A Little Past Midnight.' The lead track is available to stream above along with 'Go Ahead,' which is one of the clear highlights from the debut LP. The 7" was released on October 2 from Suicide Squeeze Records and you can grab your copy directly from Suicide Squeeze here.
