Melbourne, Australia's Pop Singles' music harks back to the jangly melancholic post punk period of the early 80's and bands like The Smiths and Go-Betweens when it seemed wonderfully miserable to be a teenager. The trio utilize a familiar dark, yet buoyant quality to their pure guitar pop with lyrics of hopelessness, loss, and not knowing what to
expect...all those things that seem so invaluably important as a youngster. All Gone is the band's first LP and was released on Vacant Valley Records in July, 2012. It's a timeless piece with an overtly lo-fi quality that may not be to everyone's liking, but definitely captures a period. The vinyl is all sold out so your best chances of getting a copy are most likely in a quality independent record store in Australia. It's worth your time to check out their previous 7" and cassette releases at their Bandcamp, which includes the entire stream for All Gone.
