Swag (by Ty Segall)
Do you remember that fantastic Ty Segall tune, 'Swag,' that was one of his 7 tracks included on that split with Black Time in 2009 from Telephone Explosion Records? It's always been one of my favorites from him, but has always stayed out of the limelight of a proper LP for whatever reason. Well, now the Ty Segall Band have reworked the tune into a saw-grinding crusher, but it'll avoid an LP release yet again. The
new version of 'Swag' isn't expected on the Ty Segall Band June 26 release of Slaughterhouse from In The Red Records, but you can find it as part of a compilation called In A Cloud II: New Sounds From San Francisco (buy), which is a collection from Secret Seven Records of, well...new music out of San Francisco. All the tunes on the comp are previously unreleased and you'll also find tracks from Vetiver, Hannah Lew, Kelley Stoltz, Wymond Miles, Tim Cohen, and Sonny and the Sunsets.
