TRMRS are from just outside L.A. County (Costa Mesa to be exact) and to say that they land on the extreme side of the current psych garage sound is an understatement. They share similarities to the Black Lips in the carefree attitude and western, surf sound qualities, but they blaze through their
songs with a spastic quality that they've coined as 'trash pop,' and may leave you slightly bruised from the experience. They have followed up last year's debut, Sea Things, with an EP release earlier this year titled Tape Side: B, and have now just recently released their second full length, Surf Titties, which includes all four tracks off the EP. The 'fun' in the music and their performances is more than clear as you can see from their video below for a track that's included on both LPs. Their output has been on limited edition cassette releases up to this point for the most part, but you can grab the Sea Things vinyl here. The new release is limited to 200 cassettes that come in your choice of neon pink or neon green (buy). Digital copies are available at their Bandcamp. There are a few upcoming shows where you can witness the madness. They'll be at the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana on November 21 (free), the Cat Nap in downtown L.A. w/ Fidlar and Cosmonauts on December 29, and at Echo w/ Allah-Las opening up for The Growlers on December 30 ($13 tickets).
