Australia's Eddy Current Suppression Ring have drawn comparisons to Wire, Can, The Fall, Fugazi and The Stooges. Their music is punk, it's fierce, and hits you straight on. The singer wears black gloves live to overcome stage fright, and one member of the band is behind the absolutely fantastic LP release this year from Total Control. ECSR won the $30,000
Australian Music Prize for their 2008 album Primary Colours and followed it up with the next one that was recorded themselves in a few hours in their practice space. Now, after three albums, it seems fitting for a compilation of singles tracks, demos and other stuff they had lying around. There was quite a bit to choose from so even after trimming it down, Goner Records ended up releasing the comp, So Many Things, as a double album loaded with 22 tracks. Listen to two of them above, and buy it here.
