Wax Idols' debut LP, No Future, from the wonderful folks over at Hozac Records, has finally made its way to me and it's a scorcher as expected. Hether Fortune spent some time with other Bay Area acts like Bare Wires and Hunx and His Punx, but the fit was never right for what I'm sure were a variety of reasons. However, anyone who knows relatively
anything about Hether knows that taking the bull by the horns isn't something that she'll shy away from and that's what she did when she took control of her situation and put together Wax Idols. On the debut record, her fiery vocal power resonates through all 11 tracks and it's a much more diverse sounding collection than I was expecting from this furious post/punk output. Take a listen to a couple of the tracks above and head over to Hozac on October 25 when it comes out to get your vinyl copy. Hether and her band will be in L.A. on October 20 with Terry Malts at 5 Stars Bar for what will definitely be a high-energy show.
...And, you definitely don't want to forget about the catchy single for 'All Too Human' that came out earlier this year (video below).
