Before The Bridge
The smooth 80's influenced synth sounds of Future Islands gained recognition after the 2010 release of In Evening Air and it continues with full force on their third LP, On The Water, scheduled to be released on October 11 from Thrill Jockey Records (pre-order). This Baltimore trio has released the LPs first single, 'Before The Bridge,'
and fans of the band will not only recognize the singer's identifiable raspy growl, but I'm sure they'll also appreciate the complete sound that the band has grown into. Another song off the forthcoming LP, 'Balance' has also been released, and personally I like this one the best out of the two (enjoy the video for it below). You can catch them at The Echo on November 17 ($10 tickets) and at Alex's Bar in Long Beach on November 18 for $10.
