Apathy (previously on CWR)
It's so nice to come back and to be able to preview another fantastic tune off Mikal Cronin's upcoming, self-titled, debut LP out on September 20 from Trouble In Mind Records. A few weeks ago we had premiere of the garage pop gem 'Apathy' and now 'Get Along' has been released to the world and features pop strumming melody that continues to show growth in the Orange County native and some further separation from the garage punk sound he's become associated with as part of Charlie and The
Moonhearts and past collaborations with Ty Segall. This record is produced by his tour mate, collaborator, and friend, Ty Segall, and my anticipation levels for it are off the charts. Keep an eye on the pre-order for the LP here and a record release show on September 14 in Los Angeles at a venue still to be announced.
UPDATE: I was fortunately able to get my hands on a promo copy and any rumblings of him 'mellowing out' aren't totally correct. It's rough, but not harsh and definitely has its soft moments, but it's a fantastic and promising debut. Now to wait for my vinyl copy. Check out a great track-by-track review of the LP here.
