Cherry Red by Ty Segall
King of the Decade by White Fence
A preview of the forthcoming LP collaboration, Hair (pre-order), between Tim Presley (White Fence) and Ty Segall has finally surfaced and 'I Am Not A Game' sets expectations on the right note. It contains all the psychedelia that you'd expect from Tim and weighs more towards sounding like a White
Fence tune with some angst in the beat at times courtesy of Ty on drums. I'm still anxious and very curious to hear how the rest of the album turns out, but in the meantime keep April 24 marked on the calendar for when the LP is released from Drag City. They are currently on tour together, but they passed through the Troubadour in L.A. and as part of Burgerama in Orange County already so there's nothing scheduled locally for now.
White Fence also has a fantastic new double LP, Family Perfume (pre-order), coming out in two separate volumes on April 3 and May 15. 'King of The Decade' is the closing track off Volume 2. For other tracks of his new releases check here.
'Cherry Red' is a cover of a Groundhogs song and is included as b-side off the Spiders 7" released by Ty late last year (buy).
