There's yet another awesome Australian band made up of a bunch of members from other bands. This time it's Melbourne's Ooga Boogas who are led by Mikey Young from Eddy Current Suppression Ring and claim members from The Sailors and The Onyas. Their self-titled LP has just been released last week from Aarght! Records and it's their long
overdue second full-length to follow up 2008's Romance And Adventure. It's a bit surf rock, a bit punk, and a bit garage (if that word means anything anymore) with moments of synth punk, but it's definitely a whole lot of simplistic fun. 'Studio Of My Mind' takes on the aforementioned heavy synth based sound while 'A Night To Remember' is one of the more upbeat indie rock tracks with its steady, bouncy bpms and charged guitars. Grab your domestic copy of the LP from the folks at Goner (buy).
