One of my favorite artists with that classic throwback sound of 60's harmonized power pop is the project of Tucson, Arizona's Matt Rendon. He's been putting out releases through The Resonars moniker since 1993 with a consistent sense of groove, psychedelia, and vintage garage pop qualities. Matt is responsible for every recording aspect of the 'band' (except for
debut 1995 LP Tripping In Your Coffin) and has a group of musicians he's put together to perform with him on tour. His latest release, Crummy Desert Sound, displays the uplifting, power chord side of things with a clear sense of mod style and British influence of psychedelic rock and vocal harmonies, and is available for pre-order now on Burger Records. Only 150 of the 500 pressed are on color vinyl so don't sleep on it...they will definitely be gone. If you enjoy The Nuggets compilations you need to listen to the two tracks off the LP above and get ready to have a new favorite artist.
