Drinking Flowers are a 5-piece psych rock outfit out of Los Angeles that have recently been terrorizing and melting my ears with their reverb soaked, psychedelia, fuzz, and all out blasts of guitars that sludge along effortlessly. The band's self-titled debut EP came out last year and they are finishing the follow-up EP to be released on the local label Lolipop
Records this spring. There's definitely an air of familiarity when you listen to their music, but it has a swagger and a groove behind the sludge that simply doesn't quit, as evidenced perfectly in 'Rebel Spirits' above. Stream the whole EP at their Bandcamp where you can also pick up a cassette copy. They play in and around L.A. pretty regularly so keep your eyes peeled on their Facebook page for more info and catch them at Permanent Records LA this Saturday.
