[on repeat] ADIDAS MOON by Lace Curtains

(previously on CWR)

Michael Coomer's (member of Harlem) solo LP as Lace Curtains is titled The Garden of Joy and the Well of Loneliness (buy), and it's finally been released. We've heard three tracks from the album over the past couple of months and they all greatly increased the anticipation for the LP's
release. Michael announced the record last Wednesday on his website along with pictures of the lovely packaging that the vinyl comes in.  It's well worth the sticker price of $15 (including shipping) and that's without even considering the 10 beautifully crafted songs that come with it. The three songs preceding the release all seemed to carry some of the playfulness and addictive catchiness of Harlem, but the rest of the album is filled with a generally more serious tone that exemplify his continued knack for witty lyrics and his strong (and ever growing) songwriting skills. It's a gorgeous set of songs that create a lovely back drop for a casual summer day. I definitely don't want to see Harlem come to an end, but it's comforting knowing that there will be more music to come from the band members in the likes of Lace Curtains and Grape St.
