Led Er Est is a duo that emerged on the NY scene back in 2007 with a distinct 70's prog rock, 80's industrial, kraut influenced, sound that carries over to their sophomore LP, Diver, which came out on May 8 from Sacred Bones Records (buy). It possesses a dark, menacing tone throughout the LP that conjures up vivid images of what 'The
Day After' would be like. Listening to the record is a trip in the truest sense, an adventure through highs and lows of industrial noise that convey a foreboding sense of doom. 'Kaiyo Maru' is about as uplifting as you'll get on this record, and it's a song that any of the 80's industrial bands would be proud to call their own.
