This Seattle slacker 4-piece made up of some fine ladies that you can't help but love have a true knack for knocking you out subtly with their mellow style of rock and the droll lyrics, as you may recall from here. Their sophomore LP, Time To Go Home, is on Hardly Art and came out 3/24. The clear wax is already sold out so grab yourself a black copy while they're still around.
Sophomore LP release from these bay area synth purveyors harks the marriage of synth, punk, and pop that Devo mastered so well. The gold-lace edition is impeccably packaged and a beauty to look at. Surprisingly, there are still some left at Castle Face. LP is out Apr. 6.
I wasn't aware Australia's Love of Diagrams was still making music so it was an unexpected treat to find their latest LP Blast. It was an even bigger treat to hear how wonderful they still sound.
Melbourne strummers Chook Race have swung for the fences with their debut LP and they have surely hit it out of the park. The trio have compiled a blissful set of 10 jangle-pop gems. The LP is self-released and is available in February if you're in Australia, but if you're in the US then you're in luck because it's already available from Easter Bilby Records.
Jake from Ausmuteants and Hierophants is keeping his stellar record of bands in tact in yet another music outlet. This time he is hooking up with his girlfriend, Carolyn, for School Damage. After a cassette release they added a couple members to assemble a four-piece and fill out their sound. The penchant for synthy, swirly punk is still evident and their first 7" for 'School Damage' was released last August from Detonic Recordings.
Bobby (from The Hussy) has teamed up with Shawn Foree (from Digital Leather) for a 4-song EP of dark, weird, and catchy synth wave released last October from FDH Records and Volar Records (USA).
